Winterbourne have a new toy. They have a webcam on top of their sight screen at the pavilion end, which live streams the game into the clubhouse. This was probably the most exciting aspect of the game on Saturday.
Put in on a slightly damp surface, their decision was soon vindicated, and we were 4-2 in the third over. Henry and Chris then put on a careful 80 partnership, Henry reaching his first half century of the year. After he was out though we collapsed from 96-4 to 129-9, hanging on until 40 overs to deny the hosts maximum points.
Smithers bowled well and produced a cracking ball to dismiss Windows, and young Ben got his first Damerham league wicket, but that was all we managed, and Jamie Harvey was not to be tempted, even by some floated moon balls, carrying his bat to a convincing win in just 28 overs.
